The boys are back in town.
This pic was taken last Sunday when we dropped the boys off at Pilgrim Pines. It was Lucas’s first time at camp and Jacob’s second. Lucas was a little concerned in the lead-up days, but got right into the swing of things the moment we arrived.
We really missed them during the week. What a hole in our lives we have when those two guys aren’t around. Micah was completely baffled about what to do, especially since we had Christi’s parents in town all week the week before. Now it was down to just us and he was rattling around calling for someone to pay attention to him. “Mom?” “Dad?”.
We just got back from picking up the kids. Today is supposed to be a record-setting day of heat and things outside are frightful. We are so thankful for the air conditioning in our new place today!
The boys were so fired up, they talked for an hour straight when we got in the car. Telling us so many short stories about the week’s events. They had a GREAT time. That camp is truly fantastic. Just like our experience with Jacob last year, both boys seemed to age a year in the week they were gone. The camp inspires confidence and they seem so bright, cheerful, and mature. It is truly awesome.
But we are sure glad to have them back.
I’ve been telling people about this, but I don’t think you can really picture what it looks like for a 17-month old to be fully riding a scooter until you see it. So bear with me, this video is kind of long… but there are some awesome moments throughout, so I couldn’t resist.
A man gets stuck in an elevator and lives on cookies. And a new Choggymowk poem.
“It wasn’t even a booty shake. It was more like washing a window.”
- Jacob, describing the “Miss Reef” contest we unfortunately got to witness when having lunch at a sports place with far too many televisions.
I finally got a good opportunity to catch Micah on video partaking in one of his favorite pastimes lately. This is a good indication of what life is like with this kid. Absolutely no fear. And a smile on his face at all times. Enjoy.
