No front teeth!
Posted to Flickr by hookjd on 1st August, 2006.
Well we thought it would happen soon and we were right. Lucas lost his other front tooth today while at Shannon & Todd’s house. How exciting! He’s got a really cool lisp going on (and he sure is handsome).

Lucas lost the first of his front teeth last night. The other one is about to go… Stay tuned…
Serious brotherly love

The boys are back in town.
This pic was taken last Sunday when we dropped the boys off at Pilgrim Pines. It was Lucas’s first time at camp and Jacob’s second. Lucas was a little concerned in the lead-up days, but got right into the swing of things the moment we arrived.
We really missed them during the week. What a hole in our lives we have when those two guys aren’t around. Micah was completely baffled about what to do, especially since we had Christi’s parents in town all week the week before. Now it was down to just us and he was rattling around calling for someone to pay attention to him. “Mom?” “Dad?”.
We just got back from picking up the kids. Today is supposed to be a record-setting day of heat and things outside are frightful. We are so thankful for the air conditioning in our new place today!
The boys were so fired up, they talked for an hour straight when we got in the car. Telling us so many short stories about the week’s events. They had a GREAT time. That camp is truly fantastic. Just like our experience with Jacob last year, both boys seemed to age a year in the week they were gone. The camp inspires confidence and they seem so bright, cheerful, and mature. It is truly awesome.
But we are sure glad to have them back.
I’ve been telling people about this, but I don’t think you can really picture what it looks like for a 17-month old to be fully riding a scooter until you see it. So bear with me, this video is kind of long… but there are some awesome moments throughout, so I couldn’t resist.
I finally got a good opportunity to catch Micah on video partaking in one of his favorite pastimes lately. This is a good indication of what life is like with this kid. Absolutely no fear. And a smile on his face at all times. Enjoy.
A Presidential Excellence Award

We are so proud of our Jacob. He received a wonderful honor at the Lowell Elementary Awards Ceremony. The Presidential Excellence Achievement Award. He had to meet some pretty difficult criteria to make it and it is completely a testament to how hard he has worked all through middle school.
I think you can see how much his mom is beaming in this picture.
The crowning moment, however, has to be the fact that he received a letter from (as he put it) “dubya”.
That’s my boy.
Here’s a video of the Amerikids show at the church. I pulled out the boys speaking parts and a few of the fun group songs. Its pretty short. Enjoy!
Jacob the Pentathlete

Jacob has played five sports in a row at College Estates Park so at the last banquet (at the end of Indoor Soccer) he was awarded the “Pentathete Award”.
We’re really proud of him for sticking to it. He set his mind to doing this after playing his first sport at CEP and he played 6 straight (softball didn’t really count toward the award). Go Jacob go!
The J-Crew

We spent last Sunday on Catalina Island for a charity event called “Our Island Green“. It was an event created by our friends at the Blue Marble Foundation in honor of Earth Day and it provided some much needed support for a local Long Beach elementary school.
I was a great time. I golfed (if you can call it that) and the rest of the fam went on a nice submarine ride. The day was gorgeous and we ended up getting this great picture of our family. Nice bonus.
Here are some more pics from the event.
